ABOUT THE ARTIST
Poet. Rock hound. Dog Sledder. Transplant from Texas.
I tumbled into love with the North Shore Lake Superior upon first sight.
After stuffing my pockets with beautiful, wave-polished stones for years, I told myself I had to make something with them or I could bring no more home.
I don't drill these beauties. After all, they've been intact for millions of years, first heaved from the earth's mantle, then rolled by the belly of a glacier. I don't polish them, either. I like them just as I find them.
Because I'm not set up as a silversmith, I had to invent a way to attach my favorite stones to other beads and chains. I learned to bend metal pieces around the stones and to wrap wire as needed. Voila, Lake Effects Jewelry. came to be.
